A lack of flexibility may not be the only, or even the primary reason you run like a buick on cinder blocks. Your stabilizing muscles may not be very strong. If this is the case they may not be able to control your legs as they come back to earth after each stride. If your core is not strong, your upper body may also be bobbing side to side as you run, and that motion will drive more of your body weight down through your legs and feet into the ground, making each step feel heavy and jolting, and look less than graceful. How often do you do sit ups? Planks and side planks? Crunches? Work with an excercise ball? Use free weights?
