What if I want to use MPEG-1 with RealSystem G2 but don want to buy the Bitcasting encoders?
The Bitcasting file format and renderer plug-ins for RealSystem G2 support any standard streams encoded by MPEG-1 or MPEG-2 encoders. The reason to use Bitcasting hardware encoders is that they ve been optimized for generating superior quality video at 100 Kbps-1.5 Mbps. Standard MPEG-1 encoders cannot create quality MPEG-1 files or live streams at the range of bandwidths (100 to 500Kbps) required by most network administrators. This range does not interfere with normal network operations, and provides an ample numbers of client connections to the server.
