What happens if, after going through the complete AYP process, a school or a district does not make AYP?
In 2002-2003, Georgia will determine AYP for all public schools and local education agencies (LEAs) as part of the States single statewide accountability system. The 2003 AYP results will be linked to previous year results and the status for students will be determined. NCLB specifies different levels of intervention or rewards for Title I schools depending on the number of consecutive years a school has not made AYP.
