What happens if a student chooses not to purchase a laptop through the myNotebook program?
The laptop offered through the myNotebook program will be very attractive to most incoming students. However, it is not our intention to monitor the purchase decisions made by our students. Here are some particulars for those considering a computer purchase outside the myNotebook program. • Students who do not purchase a notebook through W&M may still need to accomplish notebook-related assignments in the W&M courses taught by faculty members who choose to take advantage of the technology. It’s impossible to tell at this point in the project just how extensive those assignments might be, but other schools with notebook requirements found that academic uses expanded pretty dramatically as the programs matured. • Additionally, IT won’t be able to provide the highest quality hardware repairs and service for computers not purchased through the myNotebook program.
