What happens during the allergy test?

A skin prick test is not painful this does not draw blood and is perfectly safe. From the clinical history the nurse will have a clear indication of the allergen/s that are the possible triggers and a small drop of this allergen will be used. If a red mark appears, this is measured and the nurse will give you appropriate advice on avoidance and management of the allergy identified.
