What happens after I submit an application?
When FOCUS receives your application and service agreement or questionnaire, you will be sent a detailed fee schedule for your chosen program, a post-placement agreement and a contract for adoption services. When these are returned, a dossier preparation packet relating to the country you have chosen is sent. Or if you are in the domestic program, you are sent a packet on preparing a family profile. An intake interview is scheduled by phone if this has not already occured. Your assigned adoption counselor will instruct you on the preparation of your dossier or profile. As you have questions during this process, you can contact your counselor by email or phone. We have a specialist who will assist you with any difficulties with CIS. After you accept a child and receive a travel date, a FOC counselor will assist you with travel plans. And FOC will be among the first to congratulate you when you return home.
After receiving an application and payment has been receipted: • Workplace Health and Safety Queensland will assess your application. • Each section of the application form is thoroughly checked to ensure all information provided is correct. It is important that all applicants provide the correct information in the first instance as this will ensure the applications are processed without delay. • If any information is missing, the applicant will be contacted either by email or phone. • Once details are verified and correct the application will be approved. • The original application will be returned to the applicant and a copy kept with the Workplace Health and Safety Queensland. • Plant design number will be provided on your original application. This needs to be permanently marked on the plant and clearly visible by all. • Following the registration of plant design, an owner is required to register specified items of plant before it is permitted to be used at the workplace.
Staff will review the application, make a site visit to evaluate the tree(s) and make a decision on the application. Typically, notice of the decision will be posted on the tree for a ten (10) day period and mailed to the property owner. If there are no appeals to the decision, the removal permit will be issued by the City.
