What happened to Steven and Joey in 1998?
At a concert in Anchorage, Alaska in April 1998 Steven seriously hurt his knee. Here’s how it happened: During the first song of a three song encore (which was Mama Kin) he swung his mikestand like he always does. This time however, the 20-pound base of the microphone stand hit his knee. The Aero tour was postponed for a few months. Then in the summer of 1998 Joey was filling his Ferrari up with gas and suddenly it exploded! He suffered second degree burns and was rushed to the hospital. However both healed and Aerosmith went “On The Road Again” in September.
