What good does synesthesia have?
Synesthesia is a world of its own. It’s more than just the memorisation advantage or ability to interpret the world differently—it’s about the mindset, the perspective, the overall sense synesthesia provides. You’ve even said yourself that synesthesia is a gift. Do gifts really need a true *purpose*? Perhaps you can view synesthesia as being a purpose within itself? After all, not many people can examine the world in technicolour. Just having the ability to see the world in this way should be use enough of it. There’s no need to take such a brilliant ability for granted. Accept the gift for what it is. Learn the in’s and out’s of the unseen world around you; learn to understand why you see what you see; and mostly importantly, come to terms with yourself regarding your synesthesia to fully develop a sincere appreciation for it.
