(a) According to Swedenborg, he describes temptations as two types; natural and spiritual. When a person is in the period of enlightenment it is necessary to progress in your spiritual development. At this point we are developing morally, but not necessarily spiritually because spiritual development depends on your willingness to endure spiritual temptations. Spiritual temptations are brought to out conscious awareness by the divine Psychologist who chooses the timing on the basis of what we are willing to obey. God also arranges the events in our life so that the temptations can be brought to our awareness.
