What education is needed to become a vet?

0

In the US You need 6-8 years total. 2-4 years are done at the undergraduate level. Each vet school has specific courses you need to take in undergrad before you can go to vet school. You can apply after completing only these courses, but 90% of people have a bachelor’s degree. Vet schools are more likely to accept you with an only average GPA if you have a bachelor’s degree. After completion of undergrad you go onto vet school. That is four years long no exceptions. It’s very intense and structured. There’s not a lot of room for flexability in vet school. Everyone is in class at the same times. After that you’re done unless you want to specialize. If you want to specialize then you’ll need to go on and do an internship for one year and a residency for three years.
