The legal drink age on all cruise ships is age 21 and it does not change when you are in international waters ( except on some NCL ships) or docked in a foreign port. Its still age 21 and older. And all of the cruise lines DO enforce it. To buy drinks, or anything else on a cruise ship you must present your cruise card to make the purchase and the cruise card will always have your correct age and a photo of you imprinted on it’s magnetic strip. So there is no way to fudge your age. Norwegian cruise line has a different rules for some of it’s ship’s itineraries; ” With the exception of Alaska and Hawaii itineraries, (Where you must be 21 years of age to consume or purchase alcohol of any kind) NCL permits guests between the ages of eighteen (18) and twenty (20) to purchase and personally consume wine and beer while on NCL ships with the consent of an accompanying parent or legal guardian on the same sailing once the vessel is outside the US state territorial waters (3 miles out).
