What does vector control cell do?
This department is supposed to control the advance of all vector-borne diseases spread by flies and mosquitoes. But the lack of infrastructure and adequate machinery has reduced the cells reach to being merely an anti larvae campaign body. In most cases, the cell shrugs into action only after it receives word from the ICMR that there has been an outbreak of malaria or dengue in the city.
