What does the W-1 warning massage on my Yamaha AV receiver mean and how can it be corrected?

The W-1 warning is an “Out Of Phase” message that can happen if the speaker wires are accidentally crossed. If you have verified the speaker wiring is correct, continue through the YPAO auto-setup. Since this is just a “warning” message and not an “error”, the test can continue. Many times due to sound bouncing off items like furniture, walls, etc. the sound that the microphone picks up appears to be out of phase. This should be considered as a normal operation.
