What does the Forestry Advisory Service do?
The Forestry Advisory Service provides advice and information on trees, woodland and tree-related issues to the County Council, partner organisations and the public. We are statutory consultees to the Forestry Commission in respect of the English Woodland Grant Scheme (see the Public Register of applications – External Link – See Terms) The Forestry Adviser co-ordinates the County Council’s forestry strategy: the Lancashire Woodland Vision and is a member of the steering group responsible for the Lancashire Woodland Project. We encourage the creation of new woodlands and are committed to improving the management of existing woodlands by working with partners throughout Lancashire. The County Council manages approximately 100 woodland sites covering 500 hectares, including Beacon Fell Country Park.
