What does the CPC logo represent?
The Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) identity is a combination of the most recognizable Canadian symbol — the maple leaf — and a stylized flame representing the Paralympic Torch and the passion that unites all CPC ambassadors. The three elements in red, blue and green is the International Paralympic Committee identity. The three elements are called Agitos (from the Latin word “agito”, meaning “I move”) encircling a centre point to represent that athletes are coming from all corners of the world and enabling them to compete together. The unification of the two identities symbolizes CPC’s proud commitment to Canadians physical disabilities through sport. The new identity is an expression of partnership, leadership and fairness while promoting a strong and vibrant Paralympic Movement across the nation.
