For files containing sensitive data that should not be removed Identity Finder allows a “scrub” feature which easily replaces the sensitive data (i.e. Social Security Numbers) with “X’s,” leaving all other content in place. This feature only works for text files and Office 2007 files. For other types of files you will have to open the file using the application (Office 2003) and remove the sensitive data the old fashioned way.
