What does HEPA mean?
HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Arresting, a method to reduce airborne respirable particle and vapor levels by 60-70%, even in the presence of a constantly emitting source. The HEPA filter was developed by the U. S. Atomic Energy Commission to filter out sub-micron particles. All true HEPA is laser-tested and must remove a minimum of 99.97% of all particles greater than 0.3 micorns in size. A human hair is about 300 times too big to go through a HEPA filter.
