In planning blasting work, a risk analysis is made to determine critical points in terms of vibration. Limits will be set (mm/s) according to the nature of structures and equipment, along with restrictions on blasting times. In a second stage before blasting, each property within at least 200 metres will be inspected. The condition of structures will be recorded in minutes, photos and videos. The presence of sensitive equipment will be determined and these will be isolated if necessary. In this two-stage process vibration limits will thus be set for each point and the current condition will be documented before excavation begins. After excavation has been completed, points will be inspected again to determine if damage has taken place. Any damage will be compensated. If necessary interim inspections will also be made.
