What do Mormons teach about the purpose of life?
This topic is critical to understanding the Mormon teachings on homosexuality. Mormons teach we lived with God prior to our births. We did not have bodies, but were beings made entirely of spirits created by God. After our spirit births, we developed talents and personalities much as we did when we experienced our physical births. We learned God’s teachings and developed a personal relationship with Him. He knew us and we knew Him as we grew in His presence. We had agency—the right to make choices—there, as we do here. Some loved the teachings of God and some did not.
