Alterations to a manufactured/mobile home must be in compliance with the Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards, 24 CFR Part 3280, as adopted by the Secretary for the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the amendments to that federal standard adopted in this WAC chapter. The department will accept the following provisions, which supersede the applicable requirements in 24 CFR Part 3280. (1) Tested equivalent air conditioning/heat pump components that have been tested and listed for use with a particular furnace by a nationally recognized testing laboratory. (2) Water heaters that are listed by a nationally recognized testing laboratory and installed per the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
