It is believed the breeds used to make a pit bull (American Pit Bull Terrier) are a variety of bulldogs and bull terriers. The dog used in the TV show Our Gang was a Pit bull (Petie) and the mascots for RCA and Buster Brown Shoe Co. were Pit Bulls.
