What breed of cat is in the picture?

That cat is a Domestic Shorthair, which is a catchall term for cats that aren’t a particular breed. The majority of cats are not purebred, or even purebred mixes like many people think. Cats have only been selectively bred for the past 100-200 years, so the majority of cats are still the “basic model.” The coloring of this cat would be considered Chocolate Lynx Point. The mutation that causes pointed cats occurs naturally, so not every pointed cat indicates Siamese heritage. Actual Siamese cats are very expensive, and most are sold on spay/neuter contracts, so it’s unlikely that this cat is an actual Siamese. The other poster stating the cat is an Abyssinian is clueless. This cat has NONE of the characteristics of an Abyssinian.
