You want linear PCM, the PS3 only can bitstream stereo signals and not multichannel surround sound. You can also get the new audio features TruHD, DTS-HD and lossless audio which your PS3 will convert to LPCM and transmit to the Denon. Trust me you won’t tell the difference between PCM and higher priced Bluray players than can bitstream multichannel audio, but bitstreaming is a hardware issue and not a audio codec issue, and the PS3 can only handle stereo bitstreaming.
