What are virtual environments?
A virtual environment is like a computer within a computer. Many classes use standardized virtual environments that you can load on your laptop without harming your existing setup. These environments act like a PC within your PC. They are very RAM intensive, so the more RAM you have, the better the performance. If you are running Vista with several virtual environments, you will want 4GB. Some classes might use VMware which works on PC’s/Macs. Other classes may use Virtual PC that only runs on Windows. If you are a Mac user, Virtual PC will only work on Bootcamp.
