What are TPC-C benchmarks?
TPC benchmarks are a bang-per-buck benchmark developed by the Transaction Processing and Performance Council. • TPC-A simulates a lot of users connected to a system all doing the same job. • TPC-B tries to run the system flat out. • TPC-C simulates a lot of users connected to a system doing a variety of jobs. Informix usually seem to hold the TPC-C benchmark records (currently DB2 on an RS6000 though!), consequently you’ll see references to TPC-C regularly in their sales literature.
