What are the various steps in the consumer decision making process?
1. Need recognition (they won’t buy unless they recognize they have a need – if it is an impulse purchases). 2. Awareness of the solution (the purchase or alternatives) 3. Acceptance that it is the best solution or the best choice: understanding of the features, advantages and benefits of one choice over another. 4. Social or psychological influences such as brand recognition or identification (e.g. what does the Nike brand mean; or the Made in the USA identification mean to the buyer. There are more steps but that’s a good start.
