For the CMA the requirements or eligibility for this examination are:Graduate from an institute which has been accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES, register for the exam, and pass. For the RMA, requirements or eligibility by this certifying body are: Graduates of an institute accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES, attended an institute approved by the United States Department of Education with 720 clock hours in medical assistant skills (the before mentioned criteria need to present the examination), had medical training within the armed forces, been a medical assistant for 5 years, or been an instructor for 2 years in medical assisting. Tests are given at Pearson Vue Monday through Friday everyday of the year.
