What are the procedures that allow individuals to gain access to their information?
Plan information may be requested by the public through the EBSA Public Disclosure Room. If a member of the public wants information about a Form 5500 plan which EBSA does not have jurisdiction over, they need to request it from IRS since EBSA only gets Form 5500 data which they need and have jurisdiction over. Individual information is generally not retrievable. What are the procedures for correcting inaccurate or erroneous information? Section 3.4 describes processes that are used to check the data for accuracy. If inaccurate or erroneous information is identified when the filing is undergoing processing, it is corrected by EFAST. The corrected data is then distributed to the end users. If inaccurate or erroneous information is identified after processing has been completed, it is determined whether the inaccuracies are systematic.
