What are the performance expectations to successfully complete the W-TEMP program?
W-TEMP is “standards based”; therefore, performance requirements in each instructional unit (course) are linked to one or more of Kentucky’s ten teacher standards. Kentucky’s Teacher Internship Program Intern Performance Record (IPR) provides a rubric that defines the levels of performance new teachers must demonstrate to meet each of Kentucky’s ten teacher standards. Because W-TEMP is a program of graduate studies, performance levels will exceed the minimum requirements defined in the Internship Performance Record. Each of the ten units of study in W-TEMP have published performance expectations that WKU teacher educators believe will demonstrate that you are a “high-performing teacher” with the ability to produce learning with all the students assigned to you. These expectations are defined in terms of assessment scores for your level of knowledge and understanding of content or pedagogy and rubric for application and demonstration of performances. In your internship year, you will be
