What are the notification procedures for issuance of new building permits/alteration permits?
For new construction building permits, a 30″ x 30″ sign is posted on the lot within 24 hours after a building permit is issued new construction. The posted sign displays the permit and appeals information. For alteration permits such as structural additions, a letter is sent upon permit issuance to the owners of adjacent properties. Upon issuance of a permit to demolish a building, mail notice is sent to owner of all properties within 300 feet of the building to be demolished.
