What are the most common rules for laser tag games? Why should someone refrain from playing?
The rules posted on the wall (which go by many names depending on where you are playing, including “Player’s Code,” “Honor Code,” or even just “Guidelines” or “House Rules”) usually include the following or some variations thereof, and almost always worded in the first person: * “I will not run, climb, or jump.” Perhaps the most universal of the rules, this is for basic safety of the players and staff and also to protect the equipment. Running and jumping across the arena is perhaps the fastest way to get thrown out of a game (almost always without a refund, too). * “I will not sit, kneel, or lie down.” Ditto. Also note doing these makes you an easier target. (Ever hear the term “sitting duck?” Well, the first word in “sitting duck” is “sitting.” Enough said.) * “I will not cover any targets or an opponent’s gun.” This is considered cheating! Not to mention on today’s laser tag equipment it is difficult at best to cover *all* the targets on a pack. * “I will not use offensive language.
