What are the guidelines for testing my child?
Parents choosing the standardized testing option must:1. Start the testing option when child is 7 or older2. Choose a test from the list of approved tests in the administrative rules, or request special permission to use another test.3. Arrange to have the child tested by May 1, or test through the public school.Dual enrolled students receive free testing. Use the NICHE Testing Certification Form if you are purchasing the test and arranging for administration on your own.4. Report the results to the resident school district and the Department of Education by June 30.6. Make special arrangements if the child does not make “adequate progress:” Scores which indicate six months’ progress from the previous results or scores which are at or above the child’s grade level are used to verify adequate progress.
