What are the alternatives to DS?
Tube Gastrectomy can be performed as for the first stage of a DS operation. The Tube is not as powerful as DS but is just as good if not better in terms of results as Gastric Banding (lap-band) without the need for pureed foods. In many instances the “tube” can be done laparoscopically. Later, if required the second stage or bypass part could be performed to convert to a full DS operation.
