What are the advantages of an online writing class?
In some ways the media of email listservs and bulletin boards (favored ways to teach writing online) are perfect for this purpose, because they force one to deal with words alone. Also such classes are asynchronous (i.e. they run continuously during a given time-frame, and people post at their convenience) so they work for folks whose lives are otherwise scheduled during typical real-time classroom hours.
