What are the admissions criteria for transfer students?

0

Applications from transfer students with fewer than 40 transfer credits will be reviewed based upon your high school coursework and grade point average, test scores from either the SAT or ACT tests and the college coursework completed by the time you apply. If you did not graduate from high school, please submit a set of GED test scores. You are required to complete the same coursework outlined for freshmen. Are you 25 years of age or older? You may submit a personal résumé and personal statement (PDF) or you may submit ACT or SAT test scores. Your résumé may include work and volunteer experiences. A Credentials Evaluator from Admissions will contact you regarding any additional documents that will be needed.

Transfer students are evaluated on the basis of ALL work attempted at accredited institutions. A cumulative grade point average (GPA) is computed based on all work attempted above the developmental level. A minimum college GPA of 2.2 and more than 30 course credits is required for admission. Students with an Associate of Arts or Science Degree can transfer into some majors with a 2.0 GPA. Students transferring with less 30 college-level credits need to submit a high school transcript and SAT scores along with their college transcripts when applying. An admissions decision will be based on all criteria. Some majors require prerequisite courses or a minimum GPA prior to transferring. Applicants who meet the criteria for admission but who cannot be accommodated in the major of choice will be permitted to select another major or defer admission until a later date.
