What are some really good banned books?

Most of the Sherlock Holmes books were banned, a lot of them were really good! They were banned because Sherlock Holmes was depicted as using snuff, which was common in the time period those books take place. The Harry Potter books have been requested to be banned; they’re obviously evil because they use magic. J.K. Rowling herself stated that the books were never intended to be children’s books. They do get pretty dark right around book 4 clear up to the end. Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain are banned for using the N-Bomb, but I always thought they were arduous tasks to read; the improper grammar used throughout was always frustrating to me. A Wrinkle in Time has been put on ban because it apparently uses offensive language and “undermines religious beliefs”.

It might not be a banned book per se, but I’ve heard it’s incredibly good: The Drifters – by James Mitchener Edit: Rohan N. may have used creative spelling referring to the title, but Dan Brown’s “The Da Vinci Code” is a life-altering work for many people. I listened to the book unabridged on C.D. and saw the movie a couple of times. It’s dang good material, substantive and first-rate.

My 2 favorite originally banned books are Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn and Henry Miller’s Tropic of Cancer. Lady Chatterley’s Lover by D. H. Lawrence is pretty good too.
