• Parish Nurses serve as a liaison with community health organizations and facilitate access to home care service providers when needed. Parish Nurses do not provide home health services in churches. • Parish Nurses serve as health counselors and health advocates, and facilitate access to a technical care provider when services are needed. The parish nurse does not perform any invasive procedures, such as injections, dressing changes or administer medications. • Parish Nurses, as a health counselor, promote well-being and mediate in crisis resolution by assisting parishioners to access needed community services, information, resources, and referrals.
