What Are SLR Cameras?
SLR stands for single lens reflex. This technology was developed in 1970s’. It is a camera in which the image is viewed by the mirror through the lens. SLR is actually a type of camera which has got a mirror whose position can be varied and it is placed between the lenses. There is a matte focusing screen which helps to see the image through the lens. Roof Pentaprism is used by SLRs’ to view the image using the eye piece. The focal plane shutter is placed ahead of the focal plane. But to ensure that no light falls on the film of the camera some other mechanism can be used instead of placing the shutter in front of focal plane. Although to take landscapes photographers nowadays use some other cameras but professional still use SLR cameras. The SLR was first sold in 1884 the first SLR camera was named as Ihagee Kine-Exakta.
