What are Silverfish?
Silverfish are small wingless insects that are about a half inch long. Where are silverfish found and what kinds of damage do they do? Silverfish are commonly found in basements, sinks, bookcases, closet shelves, behind baseboards, wallpaper, window and door frames, wall voids, and any other darks areas of the home. Any time there is a wet area or an area with glues a silverfish is going to be attracted to it. They can do substantial damage to books, tapestries, and wallpaper since they are attracted to the glues in them. Shampoos and soaps can also bring them towards your sinks. If you find them near a sink, don’t assume they came up from the sink. Instead look for a hole in the wall or ceiling which is probable where they came from.
