What are persistent cookies?
Cookies are strings of text maintained by your browser to save your preferences on some websites. While some cookies, known as session cookies, expire when you close your browser, persistent cookies are set to expire on specific date and will stick around until that date unless you delete them manually.
Persistent cookies are used by web sites to store information, such as your sign-in name and password, so that you don’t have to sign in each time you go to a particular site. Persistent cookies are not removed from your computer after you close your browser. Persistent cookies can remain on your computer for a long time.
