What are parliamentary publications?
There are two types of publications in Parliament House: those published by the Parliament and those published by the parliamentary library. Parliamentary publications include, but are not limited to: • daily Hansard records of debates in the House of Representatives and the Senate as well as all parliamentary committee hearings • Votes and Proceedings of the House of Representatives and the Journals of the Senate which are the official records of each day’s agenda and decisions • details of bills under debate • fact sheets about the workings of the House of Representatives and the Senate • ‘manuals’ on how each chamber operates known as House of Representatives Practice and Odger’s Australian Senate Practice • Parliament of Australia website (containing this and other information).
