What are house staff benefits like?
House officers receive an extensive range of benefits through the University of Chicago Hospitals. The following is only a brief outline of these currently available benefits. Health Insurance – House officers may choose from one of three health plans. The current cost for these plans varies from $0 to $72 per month for single coverage and $80 and $135 for family coverage. Dental Insurance – (Optional participation) This managed-care plan provides comprehensive dental benefits to house officers through a network of private practice dentists. The plan has no deductible, annual maximum dollar limits, claim forms, or waiting periods. The plan generally provides 100 percent coverage for preventative and diagnostic dental care and specifies fixed dollar co-payments for other dental procedures.
