What are AVI files?
A. CRISMAS® uses AVI files, which means audio video interleaved files which are formatted to be compatible with Microsoft platforms but still utilises RIFF. Basically, this means that data that appears in one frame will appear in the next so that when compression takes place, data will not be lost. With video recording, not all the data is transferred from frame to frame. In most circumstances this does not make a difference but when you are recording very small objects such as sperm (particularly sperm tracks) and embryos, the video format will be less accurate.
