No, nothing and no one is “Evil”. The British empire of olde was simply ruthless, ethnocentric, somewhat religiously fanatical, and totally lacking in respect for the sovereignty, cultures and even lives of indigenous peoples. It wasn’t consciously “Evil”, it’s not as though Queen Elizabeth and the rest of the British government spent their days lounging around in parlors, entertaining themselves by ordering British troops to go and fetch the heads of of exotic foreign people on pikes. They just… Didn’t notice, care, or care to notice all that much if/when people acting on their orders chopped of foreigners’ body parts and stuck them on pikes, just as long as their empire kept on growing more wealthy and powerful.
