TMONEY, Want to try something. The VCR has [in the back or sometimes, the front] a/v [audio, video]inputs.Connect your game(if you can) to those inputs. They should be RCA jacks\plugs.KEEP the RF cable from TV to VCR connected!!.Put Channel 3 on TV,Make sure VCR(small switch in the back) is placed on channel 3[ NOTE;; you really don’t have to put the VCR channel changer to channel 3],place BLANK VHS tape in VCR,press RECORD.Turn the game on, You should be able to see the “turn on screen” of your game system ,play your game.

Ok, figured it out. Apparently I needed to find my vcr remote and switch channels using that instead of my universal remote. I guess the input button on my universal isn’t good enough for my vcr.
