The tunnel will be 22-feet in diameter and approximately one mile in length. When will the project be built? The project will take approximately six to seven years to complete. The initial two to three years include design, bidding and right-of-way acquisition. The remaining years will be needed for the actual construction of the bypass tunnel. How will the underground tunnel be constructed? The tunnel will be located 60 to 70 feet underground.
