So, what exactly is the Nerja train?
The reality is … its not a train at all! But this minor fact doesnt seem to bother the kids! The Nerja train is a small electric engine that pulls along a number of carriages all built in the shape of a train. The train takes passengers for pleasure rides around the streets of Nerja town. It departs from and returns to Plaza Cavana just behind the San Salvador church in the old part of town. Kids of all ages seem to love the train, including my nephew. When we eventually went for a ride, he sat there quietly, almost in awe of the whole experience. Adults are also allowed on the train so its something the whole family can enjoy during their holidays in Nerja. The Nerja train operates all year round.
