Microsoft will wait a while before it begins to push IE8 to Windows users who have their computers set to get the latest updates automatically. So at this time I would suggest manually downloading IE8 from the official Microsoft site: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/download-ie.aspx?ocid=ie8_sm_a (As others have said, be sure to download it from the official site) Here are some more great resources that will help you learn more about IE8 improvements and new features such as accelerators, web slices etc. – the IEBlog: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/ and the demo page http://www.ie8demos.com/tryit/ will give you a better idea of IE8 and see how it differs from other IE versions.
