Should I bring cash or travelers check? Can I use a credit card, debit card and personal check?
Cash: Travelerfs checks can be changed into cash at several banks in Shizuoka as well as at Narita airport. Because it is likely that many small local stores and restaurants accept only cash, you should carry some cash in yen at all time. Your arrival in Japan is on Saturday. Because banks are closed during weekend, you will need to cash your travelerfs check or US dollars at the airport if you donft have any cash (yen) at that time. Travelerfs checks:@Both Japanese yen and US dollar travelerfs checks are accepted at banks not far from the university and Mokusei Kaikan. (We do not recommend that you use travelerfs checks at regular stores in Shizuoka.) At a bank in Shizuoka, you will need to show your passport and student ID which will be issued on the first or second day of the program.
