Rice, dry fruit, spices?
Rice – depends, It can have a substantial GI and Insulin index. A better choice would be brown, integral rice (except you need to cook it for 40+ minutes!). Rice has high energy density, meaning it has a lot of Kcal per unit of volume. For the most people it would be good as a first meal after PWM, or as a morning meal, and where ectomorphs and ecto-mezomorphs can consume it in unlimited quantities, the other groups should consume little or none at all. Dry fruits – You can throw them in your oatmeal in small quantities. They are recommended due to high mineral contents, and the cheap price. Raisins are also good due to their mid-high GI, so can be consumed PWM with cornflakes. Spices – no need to avoid, as long as they don’t contain natrium-glutamat (or MSG – mono sodium glutamate) which is found to be more toxic than all other food toxins, poisons and allergens.
